May term...each semester, full-time students get two "free" credits to use either in May or over the summer. Summer, those credits don't cover everything, May term, they do and so it's completely free.
May term, incidentally, is a 3-week term that is essentially a bunch of classes on Underwater Basket-Weaving. Okay, not all that frivolous, but the courses offered are more along the lines of what professors are specifically interested in offering and what the students want to learn for fun. The chemistry department has a good time discussing the science of - and doing a bit of their own - brewing beer. I'm taking a class titled "Issues of the Homeless" and another on alternative medicine. One of my professors has already offered to help me out with the nursing application, which is due sometime between June 20th and August something-or-other.
Also think I know what to do for the parts that I was having issues on for that application. Now to just get it all done...
Big news: The boyfriend...no longer the boyfriend. We had our second anniversary this past weekend, and he proposed, on sunset, while we were sitting on the balcony of the bed and breakfast we were at. I teared up then, and still do. I may continue on this theme of tearing up for a while yet, it was so romantic and sweet and unexpected yet expected and and and...okay, enough of that.
Really big bummer, though, is for a paper I'm writing for my Homeless class? Want to reference the book Homecoming, by Cynthia Voigt. All the copies are checked out of the library, not due back until when this paper is due...well, I've other options.
