Let me just make this perfectly clear. Quizzes, tests, it doesn't matter what you call it, it'll still trigger MedicBast's test anxiety and her ADHD brain will shut off. Ah well, it's one quiz out of something like 15 or so.
And that was it for classes. The professor said that yes, it's okay to make audio recordings of her class and that people will really, really want to borrow, if not outright buy, copies. Then she practically volunteered me to go work at a first aid tent for a non-profit group that's doing a Jordan River cleanup day on September 25th.
One thing that gets to me, on a personal level, is that people refuse to believe my age. Yes, I look like I just got out of high school, if that, but I'm seeing 30 on the horizon. So when I say that yes, I have done this sort of thing before, or that I'm older than most of the people in the class, there's a very, very good chance that I'm telling the truth. I only stretch it sometimes. Mostly in relation to how many IVs or intubations I've done, and that's usually to make the patient or their family feel better.
My ER time today passed very quickly, which was nice. It was again with the knowing what the kids would want seemingly better than their parents. On the other hand, the parents are trying to be optimistic (or just don't know) about how long they'll actually BE there, so I don't feel bad about pulling out that two-hour movie and starting it, because there's a very good chance that you'll not only finish it, but be on a second by the time you get to leave. Really. So the strange person comes bearing toys, say thank you!
Two days of spinning class in a row has left me with feeling stiff and sore from about my waist to my knees. I can't wait to actually be able to AFFORD a pair of padded shorts...I have my last paycheck coming soon, I may put my car on hold to spend the $50 on 'em. At REI. During their sale. With my dividend from last year.
Next time: I'm a pretty pretty princess! (Or ballerina, same diff.)
